El miércoles 7 de mayo, los maestros José Sánchez Lorenzo y Mª Dolores Duque Romero estuvimos en la II FERIA DE PLURILINGÜISMO de la provincia de Huelva, que se celebró en Nerva, para presentar nuestro CIL ( Currículo Integrado de las Lenguas). Expusimos en nuestro stand los trabajos que nuestros alumnos han ido haciendo en las diferentes situaciones de aprendizaje y además, colaboramos en una mesa redonda para hablar sobre nuestra participación en el consorcio del Cep en el Erasmus +. Para finalizar, hicimos un taller práctico para enseñar cómo trabajamos en nuestro centro el CIL.

LANGUAGE ASSISSTANT EXPERIENCES

Hello  everyone!!

Today, you are going to know a little more about our language assisstant in the last year. 

* This is Hannah, our language assisstant for 2 years. In this video, she explains her experience in Aracena and at the school. 

 

 

* This is Katherine, she is from Arizona. This year course, she teaches in the 4º,5º and 6º grade. In this video, she explains her experience in Aracena and at school.

 

 

 

 

 

THIS IS HALLOWEEN!!!

On 28th of November, our school celebrated Halloween in a different and attractive way for our students. We made different activities at the center and classroom level. 

At the center lever, we did a gymkhna with different terrorific activities. Some of them are: 

1. Witch's hat: Students had to throw a ring to the hat. 

2. Ghost bowling: 

3. Spider: Students had to introduce balls in the spider web. 

4. Secret word: Miss Skeleton had different letters around his body and students had to find the secret word which was related to Halloween. 

5. It is time to English: Our students had to make different activities to practice the vocabulary related to Halloween.

In addition, students and teacher went to school with terrorific and amazing customes. It was a funny day :)

At the classroom level, teachers prepared different activities to practice the vocabulary. Some activities were: 

a) Halloween Dobble.

b) Crosswords. 

c) Mini books with Halloween vocabulary. 

Now, we put different photos about these activities.

To the wonderful students, families, teachers, support staff, and direction staff of Jose Nogales:

Thank you for these two wonderful years. It has been a true pleasure to work with you, to learn from you, to learn alongside you, and to share this strange but unforgettable time in world history. When I came here in September 2020, before the vaccine, we had no way of knowing that in May of 2022 we would be able to gather together outside, just as we were before. This school is full of smart, thoughtful, caring, and intellectually-curious children, and I have felt so lucky to be a part of the bilingual team here. 

I will miss you so much and I wish you all the very best in the future. A big part of my heart will always stay here with you, in Aracena.

Final task: My CITY

MY CITY 

In the last unit, the students of the 3rd course have done a final task. They had to describe their favourite or ideal city.

They had to use the vocabulary related to the different CITY places ( supermarket, school, cinema, clothes shop, pet shop….) Also, they had to use the right grammar structure ( There is and there are) and the different prepositions ( between, in front of or next to) .

Finally, they had to draw their city and explain it to the class. The results have been fantastic!!!!. These students are learning little by little and they are increasing their knowledge to use the English language in real communicative situations. 

SAINT PATRICK’s DAY

 HAPPY SAINT PATRICK’s DAY 

The last week from 14th to 18th March,  we have been celebrating Saint Patrick in our school. 

Our language assisstant was a little leprechaun on 17th March. She had a small  pot with different bags filled with chocolate coins  for our students from the 1st to 6 th year. She told them  two stories  about Saint Patrick: 

- The story of the Tree of Life. 

- The story of the leprechaun and the pot of gold

In the different classes, we have been working with the vocabulary, typical Irish music…. In addition, we read “ The story of the leprechaun”. 

On the other hand, we have played traditional Irish music for the different entrances and exits of the students.

THE FIVE KINGDOMS 

 

In this new blog entry, we want to show you the final project that the 5th graders did.

In this project, the students had to present the five kingdoms of living beings in a model. They could use any type of material for the realization of this model. 

To finish this project, the students have to make an oral exposition of the kingdoms using the English language.

BOOK  COLLECTIONS 

In the library of our center we have these collections of books for reading in a foreign language (English). So in the next months, we will start reading from the English area so that students become familiar with this language and learn new vocabulary and grammatical structures.

We hope our students will enjoy these books.
